While Mt. Pleasant has experienced tremendous
growth in the past ten years, it has also preserved its heritage
and small town feeling. The population is rapidly approaching 56,000
and the newcomers represent a good mix of retires, baby boomers
and growing, young families. Many of the retires choose to spend
their golden years here due to the fabulous golf courses, plethora
of water based amenities such as fishing, shrimping, and sailing,
mild year round climate, and state of the art medical facilities.
Picturesque Shem Creek is home to quaint shrimping
and fishing boats and Mt. Pleasant residents can purchase the days
catch right off the docks. Mt Pleasant is a community where residents
of all ages feel right at home.
